The Moynihan Chirurgical Club was set up by Sir Berkeley G.A. Moynihan in 1909 as a society of clinical surgery. The aim was to form a group of a number of provincial surgeons to observe operations and discuss medical practice. It was originally named 'The Chirurgical Club' before adding Moynihan's name in 1929. The Club is still in operation today.
