Volume containing papers collected by Leslie Pyrah, relating to his early personal life, later professional career and retirement. Entitled "L. N. PYRAH PERSONALIA VOLUME 2. Early Data: Surgical Career, Post-Retirement Data". Dated 1988 on the front cover. Includes:
- autobiographical notes and CV;
- information on family members and family history;
- photographs of Pyrah, with his school football team [c.1915-1919], in uniform for the Northumberland Fusiliers 85th Training Reserve Battalion [1917], with the Leeds University Tennis Team [1921-1922], one portrait photograph [c.1960s], and one photograph with his wife, Mary, at an event;
- a printed copy of the application and testimonials for Pyrah for his application to the post of Honorary Assistant Surgeon in 1933;
- press cuttings relating to Pyrah's award of a CBE in 1963 and the award of the grant from the Wellcome Trust to build the Wellcome Wing at the Leeds General Infirmary in 1957;
- copies of lectures by Pyrah [1955] and copy of an article jointly authored by Pyrah from the Journal of Obstetrics & Gynaecology of the British Empire, [Feb 1933];
- press cuttings and programme for the award of Pyrah's honorary degree from the University of Leeds, 1965;
- press cuttings and a publication by the Moynihan Chirurgical Club, relating to the celebrations on the centenary of Berkeley Moynihan's birth [1965];
- literature sources, press cuttings and correspondence relating to the Hunterian Oration given by Pyrah at the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1969;
- correspondence and programmes relating to Pyrah's attendance at the annual meeting of the Belgian Society of Urology, on 29-31 May 1969;
- copies of the Who's Who entries for Pyrah [1975, 1981 and 1984];
- a copy of Pyrah's speech given at Henry Shucksmith's birthday party, 20 Sep 1975;
- copy of the text and corresp relating to the after dinner speech given by Pyrah at he Leeds meeting of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, 5 May 1982;
- and other papers, including some relating to the closure of the Medical Research Council Unit for the Study of Mineral Metabolism in 1986.
