Documents related to Maurice de Sausmarez's visit to the University College of East Africa, Makerere, Uganda in May 1952. De Sausmarez was invited by the Inter-University Council for Higher Education in the Colonies to advise on the development of Makerere School of Art. The University College of East Africa had been affiliated to University College London since 1949. Includes notes on the curriculum and syllabus, arrangement and development of the school, courses, entry requirements and examinations, handwritten notes and observations by de Sausmarez, travel arrangements, tickets and menus for the SS Kenya, a printed pamphlet on the Owen Falls Hydro-Electric Scheme, copies of a typewritten memorandum by de Sausmarez following his trip, expenses and financial arrangements and printed calendars and reports.
