Bound volume of manuscript[brown ink] short/amusing poems and illustrations including "Characters of men", "Thoughts on a Bachelor's life", "On Writing Poetry", "A Woman Drinking Gin", "A Drunken Tinker", "The Bad Wife", "Gipsies, Fortune telling", and "What is Wisdom."
Signed on the last leaf by the author, W. B. Roberts, and dated 1 August 1842, Normanby. Bookplate of Leonard Lionel Bloomfield, 1908.
Biography or history
According to early catalogue, W. B. Roberts evidently lived in Normanby, North Yorkshire. [Normanby is referenced on the last page; other places are also mentioned throughout including London and Lincolnshire].Nothing further is at present known about him.

Previous references; this was originally listed with all the contents of BC MS Rom/Fraser/2 in the handlist 130 (based on the original lists provied by Fraser). However it was also at some point given a separate catalogue reference BC MS Rom/Fraser/3.
It is likely that this book was once owned by bibliophile/collector Leonard Lionel Bloomfield.
