Description
Artist's book. The recto of each leaf bears the name of sovereign states or countries in existence February 1995. The names are in black block capital letters at the top of the page. Each leaf is perforated and could be torn out of the book.
"An alphabetical atlas lists the planets 191 sovereign states. The heaviness of the book, and its officiel and définitive nature, are endangered by the perforation along the edge of the page, suggesting the ease with which the face of the world can be changed" -- bookstorming.com.
"Between cardboard covers, you'll find the whole world in your hands, from Afganistan to Zimbabwe. 191 nations of the world are listed in alphabetical order, with one perforated page for each country. In addition to being a simple yet visually compelling use of textual design, this book serves as a kind of impartial map, unconcerned with geography, borders, or physical location." -- Printed Matter website.
