Bindings
Binding of paper over pasteboard, probably eighteenth-century, much worn. On the smooth spine are two brown paper labels. Written in black ink manuscript on the first label: Dominic de Flandria. Quaestiones super Aristotel Metaphysicum. Venet. 1499. Written black ink manuscript on the second label: Auct. Gr. Aristot. Ill 122. In black ink manuscript directly onto the spine near its base: 915. On the fore-edge are ten vellum tabs marking sections of the text. Bound after the inserted blank leaf and before leaf a1 are two strips of vellum manuscript. Two strips of vellum manuscript are bound before gathering R at the back of the book. Watermark on the back pastedown of a bull with horns and a staff surmounted by a Tau Cross. The lower cover is becoming detached from the spine at the joint. Size: 312 x 235mm. Leaf size: 302 x 218mm.

Coloured armorial bookplate of Sir Edward Allen Brotherton on the front pastedown. The book was most likely acquired before 17 June 1929 when Brotherton was created Baron Brotherton of Wakefield.
