George Codd talks further about his working career, including shop owning, becoming a coal merchant, boat work for the Danish Bacon Company; casual work; the river and his love of sailing; pride in his work; joke about canal water running uphill to Leeds; talks of working boats and pay, and his inland sailing to Grimsby, Goole, York and Leeds (not registered for sailing at sea).
