Talk of (dairy) farming; Penistone and Bakewell markets; alterations to farm buildings, hygiene inspections; milking (by hand); World War One - conscription/reserved occupation, death of brother in France; family members; schooling in Sheffield; childhood home; singing/singers in local pubs; carol singing and house visiting; Chapel; pub sings at Litton (Derbyshire); sings 'Gallant Hussar' and 'Where is Now the Merry Party?'; talk of brass bands; sings part of 'Barbara Allen'; discussion of 'Rest of the Day's Your Own' and sings fragment; Litton quarrymen's songs; sings 'Ragtime Cowboy Joe' and 'Galway Bay'; talks about singing with his son.
