Description
This file contains papers written by students of the Institute of Dialect and Folk Life Studies (IDFLS) during an exercise forming part of the undergraduate degree in Folk Life Studies. The students were expected to interview informants on meals, how they were arranged, what food was eaten, special occasions, local dishes, drinks, food for visitors, behaviour whilst eating and traditional methods of food preparation (including preserving, seasonal foods, baking and pig-killing). The file includes a photocopy of the typed exercise outline, with questions, produced by David Northphotocopied (December 1980); and ms. surveys by P. A. Babbidge, Lesley Hargreaves, Camilla Smith and Bridget Thorn.
The papers are arranged alphabetically by author, preceded by the exercise outline.
