This subseries contains papers collected by Stanley Ellis during his appointment at the University of Leeds. The subject matter of the items reflects Ellis's professional and research interests and activities, and primarily concerns dialectology. It also includes an appreciation written by Ellis's colleagues to mark his retirement from the School of English.


Also includes an essay by Ellis entitled 'The Assessment of Linguistic Boundaries by Local Dialect Speakers'.
