Description
The Virgin Mary, Joseph and the Christ Child make their way to Egypt through a hilly landscape, Mary and Christ seated on an ass. On the background one of Herod's soldiers is questioning a farmer by a field of quickly-ripened wheat. The border is decorated with birds, a snail, strawberries, thistles and periwinkle.
