Biography or history
Rutter, William Farley (b 1888). Born at Shaftesbury, Dorset, and employed as a solicitor at the beginning of the First World War. Friends' War Victims Relief from Oct 1914 and Friends' Ambulance Unit from Dec 1915 until Jan 1919, serving with No. 17 Ambulance Train and No. 16 Ambulance Train on the Western Front.
