Description
These notebooks have primarily been used to record copies of letters which Joseph Wood sent to various correspondents and his memoranda of Quaker meetings. Most of the contents are Wood's own composition, although sometimes he has copied out the writings of other authors. During Wood's lifetime the large notebooks were referred to as long books, see large notebook 33.
The majority of the volumes have a number printed on paper and glued to the front cover. These numbers have been followed to arrange the volumes in an order which is roughly chronological. In each volume the pages have been numbered and in many volumes there is an index inside the front cover. The notebooks are paginated.
