Note: In French. The writer was an Italian-born politician and economist who became a naturalised Frenchman after his involvement in revolutionary activities caused him to flee from Italy. He is most famous for his (alleged) invention of the term bimetallism and his support of the economic system described by the word - the employment of both gold and silver for currency - which achieved some popularity in the 19c. The letter, written from Paris to the publisher P.S. King in London gives instructions for the publication of his brochure 'Bimetallism at 15½ a necessity for the Continent, for the United States, for England', published in 1881.
