Note: 8 a.ll. initialled; 1 a.l. (pencil); One typed l. initialled; 9 autograph postcards (1 signed, 8 initialled). All but two letters have their envelopes (including the last q.v. infra). Two letters are on letter cards. Typed letter of 31 Mar 1928 on royalties bears reply in Pauline Smith's hand and has an envelope apparently hand-delivered. The last envelope (postmarked 27 Jan 1931) bears a note in her hand and now contains a pencil note in Bennett's hand; a brief letter possibly in his hand, initialled, apparently to her, dated 26.5.1924; and a fragment (B7794a) not included in the 19 catalogued above, which may be his hand. With typed transcripts (carbon copies) (B7796) by A. Ravenscroft, University of Leeds.
