Note: From Cordova. 2pp. of 4, 22*16cm. Addressed on p.4 by the writer to "Dn. Gorje Boro" on the 3rd storey, 3, Calle de Santiago, Madrid. The letter, in Spanish, is followed by two couplets in Spanish mixed with calo and a second signature with the address 28 Callejas de la Londiga, Cordova. Accompanied by a sheet bearing a manuscript version in English citing "Borrow's Gypsies of Spain", I, p.253 and 362" sent with letter from Borrow to Dawson Turner, 15 February 1842, and by letters from Dora E. Yates to Mrs McGrigor Phillips, 16 June 1954 and 15 October 1954. The original is published, with a literal translation, on pp.61 and 62 of "The Letter from the Gypsy of Cordova to George Barrow", by Dora Yates, J.G.L.S., 3rd series, vol.34 (1955), 58-62, and reproduced on a plate following p. 40 thereof.
