Tapa cloth fragment
A small fragment of undecorated Tapa cloth from Hawaii (the Sandwich Islands), with an original museum label that states it was from the 'burial caves'. The cloth is locally called Kapa.

A sigi Ae (blanket) ikat predominantly in black and undyed white, with lozenge and wave motifs. Small warp stripes of yellow and pink run between the designs, with an uncut fringe.
