Bindings
Nineteenth-century binding of half pale brown calf and marbled paper over pasteboard. The marbled paper features the comb pattern in red, orange, yellow, blue and black. Where it meets the marbled paper the leather is blind-tooled with a repeating pattern of stylised foliage. The spine has four raised bands with a gold-tooled single fillet to either side of each. Gold-tooled in the first panel is the name: H. Savonarola. Gold-tooled across the second and third panels are the words: Compendio di revelatione. Gold-tooled at the base of spine are the place and date: Firenze 1495. A single flower motif is blind-tooled in each of the first and fifth panels. The leaf edges have been cropped. Size: 191 x 135mm. Leaf size: 187 x 127mm.

Small black and white armorial bookplate of Sir Edward Allen Brotherton on the front pastedown. The book was most likely acquired before 17 June 1929 when Brotherton was created Baron Brotherton of Wakefield.
