Description
One enlarged mounted print made from an X-ray diffraction photograph and four photographs of a lock of Mozart's hair.
The photographs were taken in July 1958, in the Department of Biomolecular Structure. They are of the lock of Mozart's hair given by his widow, Constanze, to Vincent Novello, that is now in the Brotherton Library.
The print is mounted on black paper which is in turn mounted on cream paper. The whole was originally in a brown wooden frame which has been retained. A printed label stuck to the backing paper of the frame has also been retained. It reads 'F. Hutchinson, Fine Art Dealer, Print Seller 71, Woodhouse Lane Leeds 2 Tel. 22317 Est. 1900'.
The photographs may be back to front as they have been annotated in black ink, but the writing is reversed.
Additional description
The wooden frame measures 265 mm x 215 mm. The frame is 10 mm wide.
