Description

A prose letter headed "Dear Madam", and including such lines as "...I shall be in hopes to woo you for drops of pleasant joys...", "And now Madam the confession of my crime...", and "then have I some glimmering of hope that I shall be forgiven for the offending...", followed by a poem in 14 lines, headed "Madam", and at the end signed "Madam I am your most obedient faithfull true and constant lover Will[ia]m Robins". A note is added in the end: "Madam I and my father think to wayt upon you thu[r]sday next if please God". Addressed on the outside of the formerly folded document to Mrs Ann Hoyle.
