A collection of offprints (many from the 'Proceedings of the Yorkshire Geological Society'), newspaper cuttings, letters, memoirs, etc, relating to the geological work of Moore (1 small box) and Bisat (1 box). Includes a taped interview about Bisat and a transcript.

Biography or history

Edward Moore was an amateur geologist who worked in Lancashire and West Yorkshire and was awarded the first John Phillips Medal by the Yorkshire Geological Society. William Bisat, the surveyor and civil engineer, F.R.S., a friend of Moore, was also an amateur geologist.
