Comprises 4 autograph letters from George Augustus Sala to John Latey, the editor of the Illustrated London News, partially dated by Jabez Hogg 1881-1882 (all with transcripts), 5 addressed envelopes from Sala to Latey with 3 of these stamped and dated 1874-1884, Sala's personal printed card as 'Correspondant special du 'Daily Telegraph'', 1 large printed photograph of 'The late Mr. George Augustus Sala, from a photograph by Van Der Weyde, Regent Street, W.', 1 press-cutting extracted from Sala's Journal for Saturday, 21 May, 1892, another concerning his severe illness in 1895, and an obituary on him dated 8 December 1895.


The material was formerly bound into a volume containing also transcripts of the letters, which is now shelved in a separate author/alphabetical sequence following the main sequence of Miscellaneous Letters.
