Description

Comprises 2 autograph letters from Baron Cranworth, dated 1832 (with transcripts), 1 sealed envelope from 'Cranworth' to 'The Attorney General' postmarked 20 January [18]59, and 1 printed portrait of 'The Right Honorable Baron Rolfe' engraved by W. Read. The second letter has a small press-cutting containing brief biographical details of Cranworth pasted on to it. The bound volume also contains a typescript biography of Cranworth which is similar to that found in the Dictionary of National Biography.


The material was formerly bound into a volume containing also transcripts of the letters, which is now shelved in a separate author/alphabetical sequence following the main sequence of Miscellaneous Letters.
