Description

Comprises 2 autograph letters from the 6th and the 9th Dukes respectively, dated 23 March 1812 and 2 July 1870 (with transcripts), 5 stamped-addressed and dated envelopes, 4 fragments of documents bearing family signatures, the oldest of which is that of F[rancis] Bedford, that is Francis Russell, 2nd Earl of Bedford (1527?-1585), dated 'Berwick 1 Oct[ober] 1565', together with 16 miscellaneous press-cuttings extracted from various newspapers at widely-different times concerning many members of the Russell family, including a number of engraved portraits of them.
