This archive consists of the papers and publications of libertarian socialist group, Solidarity.

Biography or history

Solidarity was formed in 1960. They were initially called ‘Socialism Reaffirmed’, before being renamed Solidarity after the name of their journal.
Influenced by organisations like Socialisme ou Barbarie, Solidarity was a activist, libertarian, socialist group with a focus on workers struggles, social issues and campaign organising.
Solidarity was a national network of regional groups, as well as being influenced by similar groups abroad. They produced many publications, including books, pamphlets and a run of journals.
