Description
Three handwritten cookery books containing recipes written over a long period of time. The earliest recipes include wartime mincemeat and economy jam. The later recipes are mainly vegitarian recipes from the 1960s. The lastest recipe has been cut out of The Times in 2002 and is a recipe for eldeflower cordial.
The recipes were collected and written by multiple memebers of the family and in some instances the source of the recipe has been included in the notes.
One the the volumes has an incription written in the front that indicates the book was a gift from another family called "the Dysons". The inscription contains a quote by Robert Bulwer-Lytton, 1st Earl of Lytton. which begins " He may live without booiks, as what is knowledge but grieving" and ends "But where is the man that can live without dining?"
