Original English version with autograph signature of the "Comtesse de Valois de la Motte" on page 231 (that is, 261).
"Prefatory address," signed: "Countess de Valois de La Motte, " page [v]-viii
"Justificatory pieces" ("Memorial concerning the house of Saint Remy de Valois" and spurious correspondence between the Queen Marie Antoinette and Cardinal Rohan): 48 pages at end.
The authorship of Mme. de la Motte, with the reputed assistance of the journalist Serres de Latour and the ex-minister Calonne, is doubtful. cf. Funck-Brentano, La mort de la reine, 1902, page 111, etc; L. de la Sicotière in Quérard, Supercheries, Paris, 1870, t. II, col. 647-649.
