Description
Documents and correspondence addressed to Catherine (Kate) Lamb, later Webb, relating to poetry and her work on Stand Magazine.
Lamb had worked as an editor on Stand, and been in a relationship with Jon Silkin, with whom she maintained a friendship until his death. The collection includes a pasted up proof of Stand 9, no 4 (1968), substantial material relating to Silkin, including correspondence, drafts of poems, material relating to poetry readings, documents relating to Silkin's death and posthumous publications.
The collection also includes correspondence from poets including Edmund Blunden, Ed Brunner, Tony Connor, Charles Wrey Gardiner, Ian Hamilton, Tony Harrison, David Hazlett, Geoffrey Hill, Anselm Hollo, XJ Kennedy, Barry McSweeney, George MacBeth, Tom Pickard, Vernon Scannell, Ken Smith and Peter Viereck.
