MS. inscription on title page of item 3, book 1, item 7, 8, cropped, and on the title page of item 3 book 2, item 5 in pencil, and 6 in ink: Lady Armytage [i.e. possibly Eliza Matilda Mary Radcliffe (c.1822-c.1898), wife of 5th Baronet, Sir George Armytage (1819-1899), rather than Mary Bowles, the second wife of Sir George Armytage, 4th Baronet (1761-1836)]. Items 9 and 10 are inscribed at top of the title page: Lady Armytage, with the Author’s compliments. Item 10 is initialled at foot of the title page in ink: TR (possibly). Items 11, 13 and 14 are stamped at foot of title page: Julien. MS. initials on foot of title page of item 12: TB. Item 15 is a dedication copy with cropped MS. inscription at top of title page: The [obliterated] Lady Armytage, with Elizabeth Mounsey’s most respectful compliments.
