Description
"Café Royal Books publishes weekly photographic titles focussing on British documentary photography. As well as work made in the British Isles (by home and international photographers), I include international work made by photographers from the British Isles. Café Royal Books is run and founded (2005) by Craig Atkinson, in Southport, UK. All CRB publications are printed in the UK by small, family run firms. All paper used is FSC, environmentally friendly and ethically produced. My aim is to create a focussed and complete archive of British documentary photography. I publish roughly 70 titles each year, with an archive box set every 100th title.... I aim to make the publications affordable, democratic, utilitarian and useful, without fuss or decoration. The images, history and the cultural archive are the focus, helped by, but not overwhelmed by the design."-- artist's statement, https://www.caferoyalbooks.com/information.
Consists of 100 photographic zines (mainly black and white, with a small number in colour) housed in a black cloth box with 3 inner compartments.
"The third 100 titles from the ongoing series, which began in July 2012. Post-war documentary photography - work by British and Irish photographers as well of photographs taken in the British Isles by international photographers. This box includes publications from August 2016 to May 2018."--Pamphlet of contents.
