Description
Early correspondence papers relating to the Department of Health and Social Security (later the Department of Health), the main funding source for the National Women's Aid Federation when it was established and going forward with the Women's Aid Federation of England. This is followed by a run of folders relating to the Department of Health and Social Security (pre-1988) and Department of Health (post-1988) and their relationship with Women's Aid, mainly concerning the funding of Women's Aid core functions, projects and initiatives. There can be some overlap with material from other files in this series.
