Description

Collection of 15 poems and an example of West Yorkshire provincial printing. According to two poems, the author and agricultural worker, William Todd's birthplace was East Harsley (Harlsey), near Northallerton, and he lived at some point at Harsley Castle. From the age of 20 he resided in Heckmondwike, West Yorkshire, where all his publications were printed. He was perhaps still living in 1892 according to the publication date of his short biography in The poets of the Spen Valley, ed. Chas. F. Forshaw (Bradford, 1892).
