The archive contains papers relating to Anne Wilson's publications including correspondence and bibliographic references for her sources.
There are also documents linked to the Leeds Food Symposium on Food Traditions and History which Wilson co-founded.
The archive includes a small amount of personal documents.
Biography or history
Constance Anne Wilson, known as C. Anne Wilson, was born in Gower, Wales, on 12 July 1927. Wilson became an Assistant Librarian at the University in Leeds in 1961. After cataloguing the John F. Preston collection of cookery book Wilson developed an interest in food history. She published several books and articles on the subject including 'Food and Drink in Britain' in 1973. Wilson was a co-founder of the Leeds Symposium on Food History and Tradition and edited several volumes of its proceedings. She died on 8 January 2023.
