Description

Collection of fifty poems in a single hand attributed to John Fountain (d. 1663), transcribed ca.1720. Poems are on pages numbered 1-161, but two pages between pp.61-62 are unnumbered in error. Preceded by title page (p.[iii]) and transcriber's note 'To my very worthy kinsman Master T.H.' (pp.[v]-[x]), giving biographical details of Fountain). Poem on pp.157-8 stated not to be Fountain's, as may be true of some others, as Wither's 'The careless lover' (pp.158-9) is called Fountain's.
