Description

[Side 1] Harry describes how to 'pleach' [= intertwine branches of brushwood to form/repair hedge] hedge, discusses farm buildings, incl. 'wain-house' [= cart-shed], describes layout of cow-shed, incl. 'boosy' [= trough], 'cratch' [= hay-rack], 'stelch' [= tethering stake], 'bing' [= gangway in front of cow-stall from which cows are fed] and 'tallet' [= hayloft], talks about ploughing. [Side 2] Jack talks about ploughing, tells anecdote about hiding from boss at school 'rummage sale' [= jumble sale], describes process of killing pig, lists parts of pig, incl. 'lights' [= lungs], 'sparib' [= spare-rib], 'lard' [= fat round kidneys] and 'puddings' [= chitterlings], explains how to prepare different meats, incl. salting 'flitches' [= side of bacon].
