[Side 1] George discusses land use around Wheatley, reflects on decline in fruit farming locally, recalls introduction of price controls and requirement to supply jam factories during World War 1, compares cost of labour now and in past, comments own cherry orchard planted at least 100 years ago by grandfather. [Side 2] George describes life cycle of apple orchard, expects good crop in alternate years, lists types of apples grown, talks briefly about plums.
