[Side 1] Jerry tells anecdote about Geordie seeing 'marra' [= friend] locked out of own house, tells anecdote about young couple on honeymoon in BlackpooL; Jerry and Joe describe physically demanding nature of work in mine, recalls particularly successful 'hewer' [= miner]. [Side 2] Jerry and Joe describe experiences as miners, Jerry recalls stressing to young miner importance of experiencing bad cable, explain 'cable' system [= area of coalface assigned to particular team of hewers per quarter].
