[Side 1] John Johnson talks about father farming at Black Heddon before being sacked for stopping squire crossing his land and moving to Shotley Bridge, father died when John was seven and John returned to Stamfordham; compares cattle farming now and in past, recalls haggling over prices, fighting with Irish cattle drovers, comments nowadays price regulated at auction marts, describes shooting snape in winter and explains love of fishing. [Side 2] John Johnson recites the story of the little mouse and the old tom cat in Stamfordham dialect and the story of the country lad; John Johnson and John Larney in conversation.
