Description
[Side 1] Jack compares quality of milk now and in past, talks about own milk production and delivery over 40 years, compares cost of milk now and in past, discusses cider-making and comments cider tastes best served from cask in which it is made, laments decline in farmhouse cider and dismisses quality of factory cider, briefly mentions 'scrumpy' [= rough cider] and 'applejack [= apple brandy]. [Side 2] Jack talks about farm workers' wages in past, reflects on mechanisation in farming compared with use of hook and crook in past, talks about own dairy farm, describes unpredictability of yield, discusses own garden and comments only uses fresh produce and avoids tinned food, stresses importance of growing according to season.
