[Side 1] Ted and William discuss local boats in past, Ted talks about own apprenticeship as ship's carpenter, recalls reparing and sailing Belfast steamers, sailing to Dublin and Isle of Man with POWs during World War One, discusses names of parts on punt. [Side 2] Ted and William discuss boat design and name parts of boats, incl. bolts and 'trenails' [= cylindrical hardwood pin used to fasten timbers together in shipbuilding]. Ted aged 76. William b. Fleetwood, aged 62; local school till aged 11; father b. Fleetwood, fisherman; mother b. Devon, moved to Fleetwood aged 25; wife b. Fleetwood; William is father of interviewer, Peter.
