Description
[Side 1] Frank recalls powdering hops through night, recalls farmer sub-contracting young farm workers to County Council to work on roads in winter, tells anecdote about improving dangerous road junction following fatal car accident. [Side 2] Frank recalls helping tie waistbands in hop-gardens before and after school with brother and mother to supplement father's wages, reflects on discipline at home and at school incl. regular corporal punishment for being late to school, tells anecdote about taking horse to forge for shoeing after school and losing control of it when returning home and beating it in stable.
