[Side 1] William recalls ploughing with horses as young boy, describes working in brickyard aged 13, discusses working conditions and wages, talks about growing own herbs for medicinal use, tells anecdote of American who bought rafter from half-timbered house to ship back to USA. [Side 2] William talks about demand for Forest of Arden oak beams in USA, briefly compares music and entertainment now and in past, comments not keen on modern music on 'wireless' [= radio], recalls local 'wakes' and 'mop' [= annual village festival].
