Description

The preface states this is the second in a series, consisting 'entirely of decorations recently modelled and executed... in the Gothic style ... selected from among the vast number of patterns which are now in his [Bielefeld's] possession.' A complete trade catalogue of the products of the Bielefeld Works, Ornaments in every style of design ... manufactured in the improved papier mâché ..., 1840 (enlarged ed. 1850), includes the plates of this and the following set (No. 272). Each figure has a catalogue number, running from 219 to 238.
