Obverse

Reproduction of the Bragg Nobel Medal, created from the original.


The Nobel medal for physics, awarded jointly to Sir William Henry Bragg and William Lawrence Bragg "for their services in the analysis of crystal structure by means of X-rays." Presented by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences.


The medal shows an image of Alfred Nobel in left profile on the obverse, with his dates. The reverse shows the Goddess of Nature with her veil lifted by the Genius of Science.


The design was created by Erik Lindberg in 1902.
