The name of the compiler and author of the hymn (folios 1r–5r) is conveyed in the last verse of the hymn in folio 5r by marking the words יעקב דניאל ואולמיה.
Contents:
1. folios 1r–5r: Kabbalistic hymn with expositions: מלכא רמא עילת דעילתא by Jacob Daniel Olmo.
2. folios 5v–10r: Ethical discourse based mainly on sayings from the Zohar, beginning: כתיב וכי ימכור איש את בתו לאמה לא תצא וכו׳ אם רעה בעיני אדוניה נתבאר בזוהר.
3. folio 10r–12r: ודויים (confessions), beginning: חטאתי אודיעך ועוני לא כיסית; completion formula: תמו ושלמו הודויים.
The hymn with commentary was printed for the first time in תיקון שובבים (Tiḳun shovavim) (Venice 501 [1740 or 1741]) (Davidson, Otsar ha-Shirah, vol. 3, 147, no. 1683).
A nearly identical manuscript with the same content written by the same hand in very similar layout is Ms. 4072 of The Ben Zvi Institute, Jerusalem (Israel) (see National Library of Israel, Online Catalogue, system-no. 990000618740205171).
