Engraving of brush maker at work from 'The Book of Trades'. Engraving by John Tomlinson, published in London by Tabart & Co. Sep 14 1808. Brushmaker is depicted wearing hand coloured yellow waistcoat and blue breeches, with array of brushes hanging from walls and stacked in background. Hand coloured blue sky in window to right and chimney brushes leaning against workbench in foreground. Manuscript pencil note on reverse regarding colour samples.
