Description

Pictorial 19th century engraved trade card of Charles Boulton depicting sofa, chair, desk and drop leaf table. Trader details in a variety of typefaces with decorative flourishes. Remains of previous blue paper mount and glue present on reverse.


Transcription: CHAS [CHARLES] BOULTON Cabinet Maker & Upholsterer, near The Eastgate Chester. Begs leave to inform the Nobility & Gentry of Chester & its Vicinity that he executes every article in the above Businefses [Businesses] on the most reasonable terms & on the shortest notice. N.B. CB. begs leave to inform the Public that he has executed the most fashionable Furniture for Mr Powell for a number of years.
