Description

Simple 19th century engraved trade card of Cole [Charles Cole]. Trader details in a variety of typefaces with decorative flourishes inside embossed frame. Manuscript ink signature on reverse 'F W Drake' underneath remains of previous blue paper mount and glue.


Transcription: COLE, Carver, Gilder, and Picture Frame Maker, 270, HIGH STREET, EXETER. Gilt Bordering for Rooms, OLD GLASSES REPOLISHED & SILVERED. Plate Squares for Sashes. Old Frames modernized & Regilt. Glafses [Glasses] of all dimensions. PICTURES CLEANED LINED & REPAIRED.
