Pictorial late 18th or early 19th century engraved trade card of Watson and Co. Trader details in a variety of typefaces with decorative flourishes in ornate floral and leafwork frame. Mathematical tools depicted in frame to left and horns to right. Image of Heracles, a symbol of strength, wearing lion skin and holding club at bottom of card.
Transcription: Watson and Co. at their Manufactory in Long Acre, LONDON. Make & Sell (at the lowest Prices) the newest & most approved Designs for Ceilings, &c. Papier Maché Ornaments in the Stucca Taste, & Paper Hangings of the newest Patterns. Likewise Girandoles, Brackets, Glafs [Glass] & Picture Frames after the manner of Carving. NB. Modeling to any Defigns [Designs] OF LADIES OR GENTLEMEN. WATSON, Carver & Gilder.
