Pictorial 19th century chromolithographed trade card of Gazet-Heltzel with image of chandelier in centre. Trader details in a variety of typefaces with decorative flourishes. Enamelled card or carte porcelaine with two tone coloured inks in blues and purples.
French transcription: RUE HAUTE NO. 6. Chez GAZET-HELTZEL A BRUGES. Fabriques de Savon mou, Chandelles à la Baguette. Huiles Colza, Lin, & à Quinquet. Magasin d'Epiceries. On peut s'y procurer a des prix modérér des BOUGIES DE L'ETOILE, de qualité supérieure tont pour leur blancheur que pour leur lumiere calme & resplendifoaute. Daveluy. Lith du Roi, Bruges.
English translation: At GAZET-HELTZEL NO. 6, HIGH STREET IN BRUGES. Soft soap makers, Baguette candles. Rape and Flax oils, & for the Quinquet [historic oil lamp]. Grocery store. One can procure STAR CANDLES at moderate prices, of superior quality, both for their whiteness and for their calm & radiant light. Daveluy. Lithographer of the King, Bruges.
